The Coral Atlas: Ten Doorways Beneath the Sea is a new set of ten illustrated bookmarks inspired by the strange drowned kingdoms of the original Coral Atlas journal collection. Each design is a tiny vertical journey through luminous turquoise water, impossible coral architecture and quiet storybook mysteries.

A new journey through The Coral Atlas
The original Coral Atlas: A Surreal Underwater Journal Collection introduced a world of submerged libraries, coral cities, enormous orange guardian fish, curious maps and a small explorer travelling beneath the tides. Its 22 printable pages were designed for junk journals, storytelling, collage and imaginative paper craft.
This bookmark set is not simply a selection of cropped images from that kit. It opens ten new locations in the same world. The colours, characters and visual language all belong to The Coral Atlas, but every tall bookmark illustration was composed especially for this collection.
That makes the bookmarks lovely on their own and even more enjoyable as an expansion for anyone who has already explored the original Atlas.
Meet the ten doorways beneath the sea
Every bookmark suggests a larger story:
1. The Lighthouse That Shines Downward
An inverted coral lighthouse hangs in the water and sends its beam toward the deepest part of the sea. The explorer has arrived with her lantern, although one suspects the lighthouse knows perfectly well where she is going.
2. The Stairway Through the Current
A stone stairway rises unsupported through open water while orange messenger fish circle its steps. Where the staircase ends is not visible—which is generally how the best staircases behave.
3. The Library Beneath the Reef
Soaring bookshelves, shell-shaped windows and a watchful guardian fish turn this submerged library into one of the most mysterious rooms in the Atlas.
4. The Garden of Sleeping Fish
Ancient fish rest like moss-covered hills among delicate coral trees and luminous jelly flowers. The explorer sits quietly among them, careful not to wake the landscape.
5. The House Inside the Moon
A small illuminated house waits inside a crescent moon suspended beneath the sea. A narrow bridge appears to be the only way home.
6. The City on the Guardian’s Back
An enormous orange fish carries an entire coral city through the blue depths. Tiny towers and lit windows grow across its back as though the city has always been travelling.
7. The Valley of Orange Messengers
A procession of orange fish carries keys and trailing red ribbons through a drowned valley. Presumably every key belongs to a door. The fish are keeping the details to themselves.
8. The Clock Tower Beneath the Tide
The clock still glows, although time does not behave normally beneath the sea. Smaller clocks hang among the reef while schools of fish circle the tower.
9. The Window into the Dry World
An ornate window stands alone underwater. Beyond its glass is a sunlit green meadow and a sky with no water in it at all.
10. The Last Door Below
At the deepest point of the journey, the explorer finds a monumental turquoise door and raises the shell key. This may be the end of the bookmark collection, but it is very clearly not the end of the story.

The pages are exactly 11 × 8.5 inches in landscape format. You may print the PDF for the easiest option or use the separate JPG pages if you prefer.
How to print your bookmarks
For the best result, choose Actual Size or 100% in your printer settings rather than Fit to Page. Print on matte photo paper or white cardstock. A slightly warm white paper works particularly well with the ivory, turquoise and coral palette.
After printing:
Allow the ink to dry completely.
Cut around each bookmark using scissors, a craft knife or a paper trimmer.
Leave the slim pale border in place or trim closer to the artwork.
Laminate the bookmarks for durability, if desired.
Alternatively, glue them to coordinating cardstock and trim again.
You can also punch a small hole near the top and add narrow teal, coral or gold ribbon. Avoid placing the hole too close to the edge; the inhabitants of the drowned kingdoms have enough structural problems already.
